DAY 1: SALT LAKE CITYArrive Salt Lake Airport and meet your Local Guide; after a stop for lunch on own, depart Salt Lake City and travel north through Logan Canyon, past Bear Lake and into Wyoming; arrive in the Wild West town of Jackson and check into your hotel for a two night stay; tonight join the group for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant Overnight Jackson DAY 2: GRAND TETON - JACKSONStart the day with a Scenic Float Trip on the Snake River with spectacular views of the Teton Range; your river guide will point out wildlife, explain the geology of the area and tell stories about local history and folklore; after an included lunch, it is only a short drive to Grand Teton National Park and the Tetons, the youngest and most rugged mountains in America; with this giant mountain range as a backdrop, you will see the wildlife, the flora, and the sheer magnitude of nature; as you explore the park, you will stop at beautiful Jenny Lake, Jackson Lake and a variety of scenic points along the way including the Chapel of Transfiguration; in the late afternoon, return to Jackson with the rest of the day free to explore the many shops, art galleries and restaurants on own. Overnight Jackson DAY 3: GRAND TETON - YELLOWSTONEDepart Jackson with one more pass through Grand Teton National Park taking picture stops at the Snake River Overlook and Oxbow Bend; then enter Yellowstone National Park for sightseeing; the world’s first national park is a wonderland of natural beauty and geologic oddities that has delighted visitors over 100 years; today you will visit the centerpiece of the park, Old Faithful!; there will be plenty of time to explore the area and witness an eruption of the world's most famous geyser; after enjoying Old Faithful, we’ll explore more of the geyser basins including Midway Geyser Basin and Fountain Paint Pots; then travel along the beautiful Madison River as we head toward our accommodations in West Yellowstone; This evening join the group for dinner at a local restaurant Overnight West Yellowstone DAY 4: YELLOWSTONEVisit some of Yellowstone's most famous highlights today starting with Mammoth Hot Springs; then see the awe-inspiring "Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone," with a chance to see both the Canyon's Upper and Lower Falls; next drive through scenic Hayden Valley, famous for large herds of buffalo and other wildlife; travel the shores of Yellowstone Lake as you make your way back to West Yellowstone; the evening is free to explore West Yellowstone and have dinner on your own Overnight West Yellowstone DAY 5: SALT LAKE CITYThis morning depart West Yellowstone, traveling south into Idaho and the Island Park region; stop in Pocatello, Idaho's second largest city, for lunch on your own; after lunch, traveling south, return to the Beehive State, and drive along the shores of the Great Salt Lake; arrive in Salt Lake City for a tour of the city including downtown, the State Capitol and more; then arrive Temple Square for a guided tour and insight into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Mormons; learn about their struggle for religious freedom and an undying faith that led to an epic exodus across the American frontier; after checking into your downtown hotel with some time to freshen up, join the group for a special Farewell Dinner at The Roof restaurant overlooking Temple Square. Overnight Salt Lake City DAY 6: DEPARTUREIf time allows, visit the Family History Library for some education on how to research your genealogy; The LDS Church has the world’s most extensive collection of genealogy records and local experts are happy to teach you how you can access them for free; then transfer to the Salt Lake Airport; say goodbye to your guide, and depart for home (End of Service)
